Before The Dawn

I came across this historical building in the Okanagan area while driving on Highway 97. I was captivated by the diffused light and color. In my deliberate attempt to create a still moment in time, I intentionally avoided capturing any cars and people passing by in the painting by leaving the viewer with a sense of curiosity. Shortly after I took the reference photo, the sun rose from behind the mountains casting a warm lemon-yellow hue on the scene. The 36 x 36” oil painting creates an immersive viewing experience.

The original painting has sold, but prints are available in the ‘Open Edition Prints’ section of my website.
