My grandpa photographed this hippo swimming through the muddy Maasai Mara waters in Kenya’s National Reserve in the early 1980s. I painted this in 2021 using watercolor in quite a fast sitting, I love how impressionistic the ripples in the water turned out.

Posters are printed on smooth matte cardstock. Painting is 18 x 18" on 22 x 28" paper.
